Before you decide

What astrology businesses ask us first

Straight answers, including the one thing the platform does not do out of the box.

Money

Do I charge per reading, or a monthly membership?

Either, or both. Sell any recorded reading as a one-off pay-per-view purchase, and run monthly or yearly membership plans alongside it.

Can different readings cost different amounts?

Yes. Pay-per-view is priced per title, and one title can carry a different price for each quality level.

Can I charge followers in their own currency?

Yes, plan by plan. Every membership plan and every pay-per-view price carries its own currency, so an INR plan and a USD plan can run side by side. Which currencies you can accept depends on your payment account and the country it is registered in.

Can I sell tickets to a live eclipse or transit event?

Yes. Live streaming comes with the F3 and F4 plans and can be added to F1 and F2. Any scheduled live event can then carry its own pay-per-view price, with live chat switched on for the session.

Can I give the first few minutes free and charge for the rest?

Yes. Set free-preview minutes on any title. Viewers watch that much, then reach the paywall.

Can I run a Diwali or new-year discount?

Yes. Coupon and promo codes take a fixed amount or a percentage off, for one invoice, a set number of months, or the life of the membership.

Who holds the money, you or me?

You do. Payments are charged through your own payment gateway account.

Delivery

Can I offer private one-to-one consultations, or let followers book a slot?

Not as part of the platform. We build private consultations and booking for customers who need them. Talk to us about scope.

Can I go live every morning without leaving a computer on?

Yes, with the TV Startup add-on. Cloud playout runs your schedule from the cloud, so a 7am horoscope goes out on time with your computer switched off.

Can followers watch on their TV, not just their phone?

Yes. Apps are available for Android, iOS, Android TV, Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku, Samsung and LG TVs. Mobile apps come with F2 and above, Android TV and Fire TV with F3 and above, and the other TV apps are added to a plan.

Can I publish a reading in Hindi, Tamil and English?

Yes. Publish each language as its own title, and give every title subtitles in as many languages as you upload. One video does not switch audio language inside the player.

Protection

If someone copies a reading and reposts it, can I stop that?

Every plan includes basic DRM: signed playback URLs, per-title access rules and a visible logo watermark, which make copying harder and put your brand on any copy that escapes. Multi-DRM encryption with Widevine and FairPlay is arranged on request as part of an enterprise plan.

Can I limit a title to certain countries?

Yes. Set a country list on any title, on top of a platform-wide allow or block list.

Ownership

Whose app is it in the store, mine or yours?

Yours. Every app is published from your own developer account, in your company name.

If I leave, what do I keep?

Your store listings, ratings and reviews stay in your own developer account, and you can export your subscriber data and take it with you.

How fast can I start?

Your platform is provisioned in under 7 minutes. A branded launch with your own domain and apps in the stores takes longer, and each store reviews on its own schedule.

What happens to my bill as I grow?

Each plan lists exactly what it includes in the pricing table below, so you can see the cost of the next step before you need it.

Who is watching

The situations this channel is actually watched in

Real viewing environments dictate episode length, audio clarity, subtitle tracks, and download availability.

01

The night before the families meet

Someone is matching horoscopes before a marriage proposal goes forward. They watch on a phone, late, with the door shut, replaying the dosha and compatibility segment until it makes sense, because they are trying to work out whether to raise an objection with their parents in the morning. They will not comment, they will not subscribe under their real name, and they want the explanation without a sales pitch attached.

02

Results day, court date, interview morning

A short watch before something irreversible happens — a result, a hearing, a visa appointment. It is a short watch, one sign, standing on a platform or in a bus, sound low or off. If the day's piece is not already up by the time they leave the house, the moment is gone; they will not watch it in the evening, because by then they already know how the day went.

03

Saturday, before the Shani temple

A weekly ritual audience. They watch the Saturday piece — Shani, sade sati, the remedies — before leaving for the temple, with a parent in the room. This slot is habit rather than discovery, and it is unforgiving: if the Saturday upload is late or generic, they notice, because they have watched every Saturday for years.

04

The parent with the TV running all day

An older viewer who does not browse, does not search, and will not scroll a grid of thumbnails. They want something that is simply on when the set is switched on — a 24x7 linear channel with a program guide, so nothing has to be searched for. The TV app — Android TV, Fire TV, Roku, Samsung or LG — is the only thing they open, and they touch the remote as little as they can get away with.

05

Diaspora at the wrong end of the clock

A viewer in the Gulf, London or Toronto whose morning is not the astrologer's morning. The day's panchang lands while they are asleep, and the rahu kaal window it describes is already running out by the time they open it. Viewers ahead of IST — Singapore, Sydney — have the mirror-image problem: the piece reaches them inside their morning, but it was calculated for a sunrise hours later than their own. Either way, rahu kaal and gulika kaal are computed from local sunrise and simply do not transfer. They need the piece to say plainly which date and which location the timings were calculated for, and they need the archive reachable so yesterday's is still there.

06

Watching quietly in a house that disapproves

A young wife in a joint household, a student, a young professional in a shared flat where the subject gets mocked. Sound off, subtitles on, phone held low, a separate profile so this viewing stays off the family profile's watchlist and history. If your only delivery is loud audio on a TV in the front room, this person never watches a forecast at all.

07

One in the morning, after bad news

A diagnosis, a job loss, a child who has stopped speaking to them. They are not looking for a forecast; they are looking for something to do at one in the morning. They watch long-form — remedial practice, a lecture on a difficult dasha, a chant — and they finish it. What the astrologer says about death, disease or ruin at that hour lands on someone with nobody awake beside them to check it against.

08

Train journey and temple travel, no signal

Long-distance travel to a pilgrimage or a family function, on a train through stretches with no usable data. They download the annual forecast, a lecture series or a set of daily panchang pieces the night before on hotel or home wifi and watch them offline on a phone.

The calendar

The rhythm this subject runs on

Channels earn loyal followings when their broadcast calendar mirrors the natural seasons, shifts, and peak moments of their industry.

01

Before first light, every single day

Panchang, tithi, nakshatra, rahu kaal and gulika kaal for the day. This is a daily edit that must exist before the audience wakes and is dead stock by the same evening — Tuesday's rahu kaal is worth nothing on Wednesday. It is the piece that builds the habit and the piece that never stops demanding work, including on festival days when the astrologer is busiest.

02

The weekday-planet cycle

Tuesday belongs to Mangal, Thursday to Guru, Saturday to Shani. The week has its own fixed shape, and Saturday is effectively a second production day of its own, because the Shani, sade sati and dhaiyya material is its own body of work with its own remedies to explain. A schedule that treats all seven days as interchangeable reads as a channel run by someone outside the tradition.

03

The lunar month, which will not sit still

Amavasya, purnima, ekadashi, pradosham, sankashti. These shift against the Gregorian calendar every year, so the publishing plan has to be rebuilt annually rather than copied. Amanta and Purnimanta regions disagree on which month it even is, which changes what you title the piece for a Telugu viewer versus a north Indian one.

04

Solar ingress and the twelve-at-once cycle

When the Sun changes sign, the monthly forecast is due for the solar-calendar audience: Tamil and Malayalam rasi palan follows the sankranti, and the Chithirai or Vaikasi boundary is the real deadline there. Hindi and Telugu monthly rashifal mostly runs to the Gregorian first of the month instead, because that is when viewers search for it — so a channel serving both is working to two monthly deadlines that rarely coincide. Either way it is not one item, it is twelve, one per rasi, all needed the same day. The same twelve-way split recurs weekly. Production planning for this vertical is mostly the problem of shipping twelve pieces at once, repeatedly, without the last four rasis being visibly rushed.

05

Transits and eclipses, known years in advance

Jupiter and Saturn transits, eclipse dates, retrograde windows. The dates are astronomically fixed, so a live session can be scheduled and promoted months ahead, and the attention around it is intense and short. Guru peyarchi and sade sati changes are fixed dates you can plan a live broadcast around long before they arrive.

06

Muhurat season, and the blackout months

Wedding, housewarming and vehicle-purchase windows cluster into specific stretches of the year, and then stop entirely — Chaturmas, the four lunar months from Devshayani to Prabodhini Ekadashi, and separately the Kharmas months when the Sun is in Sagittarius or Pisces. The calendar has genuine dead zones for muhurat content, and a channel that plans for even output across twelve months has misread its own subject.

07

New year, more than once

January for the Gregorian audience, then Ugadi and Gudi Padwa with the panchanga sravanam that belongs to them, Puthandu and Vishu with their own panchangam reading, and Baisakhi alongside in the Punjabi calendar. The annual forecasts are all due in a short window, and a twelve-sign annual set is a long stretch of recording that has to be finished before the season starts, not during it.

What you publish

The formats that carry this channel

A balanced program line-up: from structured courses and real-time sessions to round-the-clock automated playout.

01

The daily panchang strip

Short, dated, one per day, published as a series with date-based episodes so the archive stays navigable rather than becoming an undifferentiated pile. If you already have years of daily uploads elsewhere, bulk import moves the archive in; category and metadata discipline is what decides whether anyone can find last Ekadashi's episode when they go looking for it.

02

Twelve sign forecasts as twelve episodes

Not one long video with the signs in order. Each rasi gets its own episode inside the weekly or monthly series, so a Kumbha viewer opens Kumbha and is done. The side effect matters more than the convenience: per-title analytics then tell you which signs are actually watched and how much watch time each one earns, which one combined video never will.

03

Live transit and eclipse broadcasts

Scheduled live events announced well ahead — eclipse commentary with the sutak timings, a Guru peyarchi session, a new-year panchanga reading. These are the sessions people arrange to be free for, which is why the date has to be announced well ahead; publish the session to the library afterwards and it becomes the reference piece people return to over the following year, until the next peyarchi replaces it.

04

A 24x7 linear channel for the television audience

Recorded lectures, remedial chants, evergreen explainers and past transit sessions running continuously with a program guide, so the older viewer who will not browse a grid has something on when the TV goes on. It also gives the daily archive a second life: yesterday's forecast is dead on demand but perfectly good as scheduled linear filler.

05

Structured teaching courses

Multi-part series on chart reading, dasha calculation, KP, Lal Kitab, Nadi or transit interpretation — the serious learner content, put behind subscription or per-title access. Subtitles are not optional here: Sanskrit and technical terms are hard to catch by ear, and students pause, re-read and take notes rather than watch straight through.

06

The annual forecast special

Long-form, released around new year, sold as a rental or purchase rather than given away — a full year-ahead reading per sign, plus the muhurat guide for the wedding and housewarming windows. It is the piece an astrology channel prices rather than gives away, and it needs to be finished and uploaded before the season, not during it.

The honest part

What running this channel actually involves

The clear-eyed production habits, rights considerations, and platform discipline that separate enduring channels from abandoned ones.

01

The astrologer is the channel, and usually has their own practice

A viewer follows an astrologer, not a library: the authority sits in one face, one voice and one way of reading a chart. That person sells private consultations alongside the channel, and will want their number burned into the recording or sitting in the title and description metadata. Settle recorded-session rights in writing before you bulk-import years of daily panchang and twelve-sign forecasts, because if they leave, the question of who may keep publishing those recordings arrives immediately and badly.

02

Your calendar will be told it is wrong

Drik versus Vakya panchang, Amanta versus Purnimanta months, the choice of ayanamsa, sunrise calculated for which city. Two viewers can both be correctly certain your tithi is off. The only workable answer is to state the system and the reference location in the title and metadata of every dated piece and hold to it, rather than quietly switching when someone complains.

03

Language duplication multiplies by twelve

Twelve signs times Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam and English is a file count that gets out of hand fast, and the astrologer's own fluency does not stretch across all of those languages. Subtitles carry the load honestly, and they are what the muted viewer and the note-taking student need anyway. Beyond subtitles, a Telugu edition means a genuinely separate recording by someone with the standing to give it, published as its own series — which is a second production line, not a second file on the same one.

04

What a presenter may not say has to be written down

Predictions about death, disease, a spouse's infidelity or someone's money are the ones that cause real harm and real complaints, and the viewer most exposed to them is the one watching a dasha lecture alone at one in the morning. Agree in writing with every astrologer who records for you what will not be predicted on camera, and be ready to pull a published forecast. Ad networks and app stores also have their own policy rules for this category — read them before launch, not after a rejection — which is one practical reason disclaimers and your own payment path are worth setting up early.

05

Daily forecasts are re-uploaded the same morning

The morning's panchang and the twelve-sign weekly get captured and reposted to public video sites and family messaging groups while the rahu kaal they describe is still running. Signed playback URLs, geo-fencing, per-title access rules, and a player watermark raise the cost of casual re-uploading; none of them stop a phone pointed at a screen showing that day's timings. On a channel that publishes something new before dawn every single day, takedowns are a standing chore rather than an incident.

06

The workload is decided by the sky, not by you

Transit weeks, eclipse days and new-year season are when the audience arrives and also when the astrologer is fully booked with private consultations. The only way this works is front-loading: annual forecasts recorded months early, evergreen explainers on dasha and chart basics banked for the quiet stretches between festivals, and an accepted plan for who covers the daily panchang strip when the presenter is travelling to a temple or unwell.

Making it pay

Sustainable monetization architecture

A hybrid fits an astrology channel better than any single model, because the daily panchang, the teaching archive and the year-ahead reading are bought in three different ways. The daily forecast and the twelve-sign weekly pieces are habit content that has to stay free and reachable to be a habit at all — advertising is the honest model there. The learning courses on chart reading and dasha calculation, the transit deep-dives and the archive of past peyarchi sessions are what a committed viewer will hold a subscription for, and you should plan for that subscription to be taken out around new year or a major transit rather than spread evenly across the year, which makes renewals cluster on the same calendar the content follows. The annual forecast and the muhurat guide are the natural rental or purchase: someone who will never subscribe will pay once, in season, for the year-ahead reading for their own rasi. Two practical points push the same way. Connecting your own payment gateway matters here because you want the billing relationship for a year-ahead reading in your own name rather than dependent on a marketplace's policy of the month. And when you compare platforms, weigh the fee structure against your own shape of income: your economics are many small payments inside a few short windows, so ask what a platform costs you in Ugadi and Puthandu season specifically, and whether its charges rise exactly in the weeks you earn most.
